After years of focusing on the single-serve space, we have finally developed our first line of Whole Bean blends. As this is a very crowded space with lots of amazing and great products and quality, we thought we have to do something a bit different. We created three initial whole bean blends that aim to distinguish themselves in the market - and not just on taste which is generally a pretty subjective experience and opinion - but rather on some other aspects of drinking coffee and today's customer options:

  1. Stomach and digestive irritation as a consequence of coffee consumption
  2. Lack of authentic Italian espresso options - outside of the main-stream and industrially-produced brands Lavazza, Illy, Caffe Vergnano, Segafredo, or Kimbo Coffee - produced by small companies like ours that still care about small-batch production and hand-selection of beans.

To tackle the first bullet point, we created a Light Roast and a Medium Roast Blend under our brand Glorybrew.

LOW ACID COFFEE BEANS by GLORYBREW

We involved university-research to identify and then reduce a large part of the stomach-irritating acids of our bean blends. This research ultimately led to a European Patent (EP 3 257 379 B1) for a method of naturally modifying coffee beans in order to remove irritating substances, without the loss of its useful features,
such as caffeine contents, sensory and anti-oxidation properties - so non-GMO!

We are very proud to finally offer these two blends in the US and hope that it will help a lot consumers enjoying coffee more frequently and without any negative consequences.

ITALIAN SUPER CREMA ESPRESSO BEANS by ARTUZZI

With our brand Artuzzi, we wanted to create a worthy Italian-roasted alternative for the Lavazza Super Crema espresso bean line. So we created

for everyone that would like to indulge in an authentic Italian Espresso experience: hand-roasted in small batches - a true delight compared to Lavazza's industrially roasted Super Crema blends.

* Low Acid Coffee Bean Details and Clarifications

Low acid coffee beans offers several potential benefits for individuals who are sensitive to acidity or have digestive issues. Here are some of the advantages:

  1. Gentler on the Stomach: Low acid coffee is less likely to cause stomach discomfort, acid reflux, or heartburn compared to regular coffee. It can be a more suitable choice for people with acid sensitivity or gastrointestinal problems.

  2. Reduced Tooth Enamel Erosion: High-acid coffee can contribute to tooth enamel erosion. Low acid coffee, on the other hand, is less likely to harm your dental health, making it a better option for those concerned about dental hygiene.

  3. Milder Flavor: Low acid coffee tends to have a smoother and milder flavor profile. This can be appealing to individuals who find high-acid coffee too sharp or bitter. It allows coffee drinkers to enjoy the taste of coffee without the overpowering acidity.

  4. Less Risk of Acid Reflux: For individuals prone to acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), low acid coffee may help reduce the risk of triggering these conditions. It's often recommended by healthcare professionals for those with acid-related digestive issues.

  5. Better Digestive Comfort: Some people experience gastrointestinal discomfort, such as bloating or indigestion, after consuming acidic foods or beverages. Low acid coffee is less likely to cause these discomforts, providing a more enjoyable coffee-drinking experience.

  6. Easier on Sensitive Palates: Low acid coffee can be a better choice for individuals with sensitive taste buds. It allows them to appreciate the nuanced flavors of coffee without the overpowering acidity that can mask other taste notes.

  7. Healthier for Certain Conditions: People with certain medical conditions, such as gastritis or ulcers, may find low acid coffee more suitable for their dietary needs, as it's less likely to exacerbate these conditions.

It's important to note that the acidity of coffee can vary between different brands and types of coffee beans. If you have specific health concerns or preferences, it's advisable to choose coffee labeled as "low acid" or "gentle on the stomach" and consult with a healthcare professional for personalized recommendations. Additionally, individual tolerance to acidity varies, so what works best for one person may not be the same for another.
